Ø Agri. Store (Vatika) opened at District Industries Building, Middle Point, Port Blair as sale point for all value added products produced in the Department.
Ø Enforcement of Agriculture Produce Marketing Regulation (APMR) for the UT is under process for regulating agriculture marketing.
Ø Collection compilation and uploading of market prices of agriculture commodities in AGMARKNET Portal. ‘AGMARKNET Portal’ for connecting the markets at all India level for dissemination of price of Agriculture Commodities at a given time in any place of the nation is installed and operating. Other features are market arrivals, price trend, arrival trend, graphical reports and monitoring system has also been added under Marketing Research & Information Network.
Ø ‘Mobile first’ Scheme is also to be launched aiming to deliver Marketing details to farmers through various mobile channels like mobile app, USSD and IVRS. The mobile app can get market price of crops within 50 Km of the device location.
Ø Facilitating farmers for direct marketing of Agriculture commodities or through SHG’s/Co-op/FPO’s for bringing stabilization in price of Agriculture produce.
Ø Organizing of HAATs for farmers and exhibition of value added products for creating awareness.
Ø Working towards establishing and being a part of National Agriculture Marketing (NAM).NAM is envisaged as a pan-India electronic trading portal which seeks to network the existing APMC and other market yards to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities. After enforcement of APMR this administration will be willing to co-ordinate as a member of NAM.
Ø Correspondence with Ministry on various issue of Marketing.
Ø Price recommendations for Commission for Agriculture Costs and Prices (CACP) for Rabi, Khariff and Copra scrutinized & inputs provided for preparation in consonance with Ministry of Agriculture.
Ø Cleanliness drive undertaken in vegetable market/mandis of Port Blair under Swachh Bharat Mission and to be taken up in all the mandis of other zones.
