The Agriculture Department provide long term loan to the farmers of these Islands to undertake Soil Conservation work and Mechanized farming in their holdings The farmers can avail the subsidy benefit under the Soil Conservation scheme in the following manner: |

For timely field operation of the farmers of these Islands, the department provide assistance to the farmers for purchase of tractor with three matching implements by their-own by availing subsidies from the department.
Loan
Individual farmers/Co-operative Societies are eligible for bank loans towards the cost of tractor with three matching implements including one trailer.
15% of the cost to be contributed by the farmer as down payment
Subsidy
30% cost subsidy or Rs. 30,000/- whichever is less
100% transport subsidy is provided by the department.
Eligibility
The Progressive Farmer/Cooperative Societies should possess 6Acre/2.51 hectare of land in his ownership.
The land in question to take Loan cum subsidy on tractor should be free from all incumbance and have clear title of ownership with detailed survey particulars.
The application forms are available with concerned Zonal Officers or Incharge of sub-depot
The concerned farmer should fill-up the application form alongwith all records of the land.
The application is to be submitted to the concerned Zonal Officer or Incharge of the sub-depot.
In normal case, the scheme is sanctioned within 45 days.

As per the approved pattern of assistance the soil conservation works are undertaken up the holding of the individual cultivators on loan-cum-subsidy basis.
The initial cost of the scheme is treated as loan with interest payable regularly.
50% of the cost is treated as subsidy after completion of 5 years and the balance 50% of the loan amount is payable in 15 annual equal installment alongwith the interest acquired thereof.
The maximum ceiling of expenditure per ha. has been fixed amount equivalent Rs. 14000/-.
Rate of Interest 8.75%
The land in question to take up Soil Conservation Work with 50% Loan cum subsidy basis should be free from all incumbance and have clear title of ownership with detailed survey particulars.

Under Minor Irrigation Scheme
1.Excavation of ponds on shramdan-cum-subsidy.
The selected farmers are directed to start the work under the technical supervision of the Departmental Officials.
After the completion of work in all respect 1/3rd cost of the Minor Irrigation Pond, are handed over to the farmers as subsidy.
In normal condition the scheme is completed within 105 days
The Progressive Farmer should possess 1- hectare of land in his ownership.
The Farmer should have water source in the form of Nallah/Pond/Well near his plot
The land in should be free from all incumbance and have clear title of ownership with detailed survey particulars, in order to avail subsidy on pumpset.
The application forms are available with concerned Zonal Officers or Incharge of sub-depots.
The concerned farmer should fill-up the application form alongwith all records of his land.
The application is to be submitted to the concerned Zonal Officer or Incharge of the sub-depots.

2).Excavation of ponds on loan cum subsidy.
The name of the selected farmers are forwarded to the concerned bank for sanction of loan component being the 2/3rd cost of the Minor Irrigation Pond.
On sanction of subsidy by the Administration the subsidy amount is handed over to Banks.
Total cost of pond is paid to the beneficiaries in three equal installments.
1st installment at the time of sanction of loan-cum-subsidy by the concerned bank,
2nd installment after the 50% completion of the work
3rd installment after the completion of the work in all respect.
In normal condition the scheme takes about 150 days for completion.
The Progressive Farmer should possess 1 hectare of land in his ownership.
The Farmer should have water source in the form of Nallah/Pond/Well near his plot
The land in question should be free from all incumbance and have clear title of ownership with detailed survey particulars, in order to avail pumpset subsidy.
The application forms are available with concerned Zonal Officers or Incharge of sub-depot.
The concerned farmer should fill-up the application form alongwith all records of the land.
The application is to be submitted to the concerned Zonal Officer or Incharge of the sub-depot.

3). Supply of pumpset on cash-cum-subsidy.
The selected beneficiaries are directed to deposit the 2/3rd cost of the pumpset to the suppliers approved by this department.
After sanctioning of the subsidy amount the Pumpset is commissioned at the farmer’s field.
In normal conditions, the pumpset will be commissioned within 90 days
The Progressive Farmer should possess 1 hectare of land in his ownership.
The Farmer should have water source in the form of Nallah/Pond/Well near his plot
The land in question should be free from all incumbance and have clear title of ownership with detailed survey particulars, in order to avail subsidy on pumpset.
The application forms are available with concerned Zonal Officers or Incharge of sub-depot.
The concerned farmer should fill-up the application form alongwith all records of the land.
The application is to be submitted to the concerned Zonal Officer or Incharge of the sub-depot.
In normal case, the scheme will be sanctioned within 45 days.

4). Supply of Pump set on loan-Cum-Subsidy
The name of the selected farmers are forwarded to the concerned bank for sanction of loan component, being 2/3rd cost of the Pumpset.
On sanction of subsidy by the Administration (1/3rd of the cost the pumpset) the pumpset is commissioned in the farmer’s field.
Interest = At the rate offered by the concerned bank
In normal condition the scheme takes about 150 days for completion.

The name of the selected farmers are forwarded to the concerned bank for sanction of loan component, being 2/3rd cost of the Pumpset.
